Drawstring backpacks are a refreshing change from your run of the mill backpacks. They are usually closed using two strings, instead of a zipper or snap closures. Most of these backpacks look pretty sharp and unique, the problem is they aren’t very secure. If you drop your bag, even if the drawstrings are pulled tightly, stuff can fall out.
If you walk on a normal college campus, you won’t see many drawstring backpacks, so owning one can help set you apart from the crowd and make a fashion statement. One big benefit is that if you are lazy like me, they are much easier to use. You can throw your books inside and not have to worry about zipping the bag up. If this is something that appeals to you, here are a few selections I came across:
Leather Drawstring Backpack (Kozmic) – made out of leather, this bag has a really trendy look. It has a drawstring close top and both a front and back pocket to toss in your accessories. $40
American West Drawstring Backpack – made for women, this all leather backpack is handmade, which is why it runs about $150. It is accented with a flower stitch design and comes in a paisley green. The top has a drawstring opening with a snap closure for extra security.
Mulholland Brothers Drawstring Backpack – this is a beautiful top of the line, cream brown backpack with a drawstring closure, padded shoulder straps and the inside has pockets to hold pens, phones and other accessories. This price on this is $370.
