Buying a backpack for a small laptop is a little more difficult these days with the screen sizes becoming bigger and bigger. Many manufacturers are accommodating these bigger laptops with oversized products and the smaller backpacks are becoming harder to find. This doesn’t mean they aren’t still being made, however.

The thing to keep in mind is that you want a backpack that will hold your laptop securely, and offer ample padding, no matter the size. An ideal backpack will fit everything nice and snug, without much movement. It doesn’t take a genius to understand what can happen if everything is bouncing around…

Here are a few backpacks that fit small laptops and meet all of the criteria above:

Small Rogue Backpack For Laptops (STM) – this is a heavily padded backpack that has suspension cradling for your laptop, which keeps it protected with a thick layer of high-density foam. It will fit up to a 13in screen, and also has pouches for cell phones and mp3 players.

3-In-1 Laptop Sleeve (Timbuk2) – this backpack is made for 10in screens and features a layer of cold molded foam, which offers ideal protection. This is a pretty simple design with very few features, but it does its job and does it well. Best of all it only costs around $30.

Small Laptop Backpack On Wheels (Piel) – this is for people who want to get really serious about protecting their laptops. It is made out of high grain leather, has a padded main compartment and four other pockets for carrying your accessories. This usually sells for about $279 when it is on sale.

I came across several other small laptop backpacks that got some really outstanding reviews, so look for a follow-up post to this article in the future!
